Big D HRC Committees

The following are the committees the Executive Board would like to see created. These committees will be made up of Big D members and at least one Executive Board member.  Many of the committees will be created for a specific purpose and when that task is completed, the committee will disband. Other committees will be on going.  The committee chairperson will need to be prepared to give and update on the status of the committee at each General Membership meeting.   

Committee	Purpose
By-Laws	The purpose of the By-Law committee is to update the By-Laws to reflect the purpose the club.  Many of the changes may be as simple as changing spelling and grammatical errors.
Training and Seminars	The Training and Seminar committee is a little different. It will be made up of at least 4 people with 1 of the 4 people from the North, South, East and West regions of the Metroplex.  Orie Mathews being the Training Coordinator will be the Chairperson.  The other purpose is to put together seminars to help members with certain training issues.
Equipment	The purpose of the Equipment Committee is to access the equipment needs of the club and the follow through with the procurement of needed equipment.
Bass Pro Dog Demo	The purpose of the Bass Pro Dog Demo committee is to arrange quarterly demo’s at the Grapevine and maybe Rockwall Bass Pro Shops stores.
New Member Orientation	The purpose of the New Member Orientation committee is to create a program to get new people into the club and new members involved in the club.  Be it by documentation available on the website, an email or a phone call.  We want the new members to feel welcomed and informed
Social	The purpose of the Social committee is to create social, dog and non dog events for the members.  Example, Shrimp Boil, Wild Game Dinner, etc.
Raffle	The purpose of the Raffle committee is to gather items and sponsors for our hunt tests. This will be a year round committee.  We always need items and new sponsors.
20th Anniversary UKC Hunt Test	The purpose of the 20th Anniversary UKC Hunt Test committee is to prepare for the 20th Anniversary UKC Hunt Test on September 29 & 30, 2007.  We want this to be the best hunt test people have ever attended. Remember everything is bigger in Texas.
Other Dog Events	The purpose of the Other Dog Events committee is to create other dog events that members and non-members alike will attend. Example, CGC certificate, Microchip clinic, desnaking etc. This can also be a big money maker for Big D.
AKC Hunt Test 2008	The purpose of the AKC Hunt Test 2008 committee is to prepare for the AKC Hunt Test in 2008.
Youth	The purpose of the Youth Committee is to attract for youth to the sport of hunting and hunt tests.
